Ushering in a new year is always a mixed bag of, quite cleansing and cathartic with equal measure of nervous and the unknown. Sometimes this is an easy task and others it takes a minute before we can even see what it is we want or might not even need. The timing is usually right on and fairly clear for me. I’ve sat on this and moved it around in my mind for a bit. So, I feel it’s time to mention it and move forward with new attitude and direction. Over the last couple of years my relationship with social media and the digital world has become increasingly soured by the current conditions it has ground itself into, as we all have seen and experienced. Trust me, it is not lost on me how pronounced and big this source is for many things besides music and the delivery of such. However, while I have my feelings about these sources, until I make large and bold changes with regards to the future of my Art, nothing changes. If I’m honest, I need that change.

My goal has always been to reach the friends of my music the best way I can and meet them at their easiest connection. Everything is built and loved and released from my mind, to you. The end result, is you. You will always be at the end of what I love and design and spend so much time with. It has to work mutually or it’s a fail. Without genuine someones to share it with, it isn’t what it needs to be. It doesn’t have the same breath. I have to nurture the most direct way to you that I possibly can. In a world full of so much discourse and confusion, we still have to nurture each other and find one another somehow.

With the increasing failure and disconnect on social media and streaming for creatives, and the challenging inability to reach our audience, it has birthed a stronger desire in myself to become a better communicator and warrior to champion the successful delivery of what I create. A more disciplined artist and creator for the music I intend to deliver (and there is quite a bit), the books I intend to write and share and the festival I’m quietly growing; in a more loving and positive way. As you all can see, social media is truly becoming more of an ad space and misinformation dirt road, increasingly more void of connection, regardless of how we make believe it helps to keep up connected. It’s an empty phone call, a hollow envelope, an empty hang. Bots and bullies and banning are the normal now. It’s a shame. Not to say, there isn’t a fair share of tremendous exciting and loving things to see and experience, we just have to filter and dig so much to find it. Never quite sure what is real. It’s a shame.

Moving forward, over the next several months, there will be less activity for what I do showing up in those environments, digitally or physically. It will be used solely for what it is most effective at, ad space. All the while, directing you to where the vibe truly can flourish and be alive. Obviously, the website will be thrust into hyperdrive with new content. As will, the official Bandcamp, Youtube and Patreon. Even these are subject to adjustments as we move forward. It’s just time to weed out things and create with beautiful reckless abandon, with no restrictions. Exactly how Art should be. Zero algorithm.

This decision wasn't taken lightly and mocked mostly, but I feel a great evolutionary step forward for myself and what I create. With so much uncertainty in our lives, the last thing I want is for you to miss something kind and positive. With so much negativity abound the last thing I want for you is to become addicted to the drama they sell. I want a more clear and direct path to what I do, if you care and want, and I hope you do. I realize I jeopardize the friend and fan base reach in ways but is typing in a website all that more challenging than opening an app? I believe in my artist’s heart we will all find each other and share so much more effectively. Life is rad.

Anthony Wayne is a musician and songwriter from Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. A beautiful area, ripe with mountainous forests and skies for days, where many call Home. Where Anthony has created his brand of genreless Vibe.  Taking time to create this brand of Vibe he wanted, had been kicking around, writing and touring since 1995, from Virginia to Nashville to Texas and coast to coast and back. It is often said that a songwriter or song can be genre defining or to be easily compared to or paralleled with an artist or band currently on a certain chart. Anthony Wayne did not set out to be genreless but with so many influences and a vast creative pallet, he has given his music a challenging classification and ultimately, Freedom.  Influences ranging from Singer Songwriter, Metal, Punk, Percussion, Poetry, Theater and most places in between, allow him the diversity. Unable to prevent all artistic outlets to spoil his Vibe, Anthony Wayne is equal parts Indie, Americana, Jam, Rock, and Progressive. That is just the start of what might be. A genreless, free spirited collected compass, with so many points North that, Home is all around him and wherever he goes.  Utilizing harmonies, guitars, samples, drums, percussion, rhythm and groove; Anthony Wayne is allowing his hands and heart to deliver a unique Vibe unlike anything seen before. With a vibrant and raucous stage delivery, Anthony Wayne is Live and Ready. This year will see the release of recorded material that has been waiting for the right moment to see the light. To celebrate, Anthony Wayne is peeling back the layers of sound to reveal the basics. A guy and a guitar and tons of new material.
